Tantoku Garden Original Tea Ceremony
~ With Live Koto Performance ~
~ Thoughtfully planned Tea Ceremony designed for Tantoku Garden Weddings ~
Traditional Japanese tea ceremony with live Koto performance in a solemn atmosphere.
By making matcha (tea) with water brought by both families, we congratulate the two of you and your relatives embarking on a new life together.
Mizuawase (Water Mixing) Ceremony
An ancient Japanese ceremony where water brought from both families is poured into one cup and drunk. Two people who grew up in different water environments became one and overcame their differences. It is filled with the wish that you can live happily as one new family.
Thick Tea
The water brought from both families is combined in the Mizuawase Ceremony to make a stronger tea.
Marriage ceremony
"San-san-ku-do" is the tradition where 3 different teas are poured in to 3 separate cups and drunk 3 times.
This is to show a bonding of the 2 newlyweds, an offering to their ancestors and a pray of prosperity for the descendants.
Kinship (families) Ceremony
Tea is served to all members of both families in order to deepen the ties between the families.
